I'm wishing every Jewish soldier a happy, healthy, and above all, a safe return this New Year.

Chaplain Sager gave me your web site. It is outstanding and I will pass it on to friends and family.

We are the parents of a doctor who recently returned from Iraq.
He served in a FSH in Baghdad from March-July.

Does anyone know of services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
in Okinawa? If possible I would like to get a contact and
e-mail to pass on to someone stationed in Kadina AFB.
Thank you

Mazel tov to Cpl. Tibor ("Ted") Rubin, a survivor of the Mauthasen death camp during WWII, and a U.S. veteran of the Korean War, on receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor last week at the White House. Cpl. Rubin was commended both for his extreme heroism in combat and also his unselfish use of the survival skills he learned in the Nazi death camps to help his comrades survive in the Chinese POW camps. Go to http://www.army.mil/medalofhonor/rubin/ for more information. Not mentioned in those articles, but pointed out elsewhere, is how he was denied recognition because his anti-semitic first sergeant refused direct orders to nominate Rubin for the Medal of Honor, the DSC, and the Silver Star. The first sergeant also arranged for Rubin to be given the company's most dangerous assignments, which directly led to his heroics.
